Final Project

For our final project we were to dig deep into our family roots. We were asked to interview a family member, email family members asking for information about my family, research our family on ancestry.com, create an infographic about our family, make a family tree on family echo, and create a presentation on prezi with 15 or more family members. You can find the links to all of these below.

GIANT blog post of the day:

Answer the following questions thoroughly on your blog:

What was your stop motion animation about? Why did you choose your video to be about this? Was it because it was easy, because it would be fun, or it would be challenging? Explain your reasoning behind your project (and be honest).

My stop motion was about me playing a game on my IPhone. Honestly, I chose this because I don't have much time for school work due to working, my pageant training, spending time with my family and boyfriend, and trying to squeeze a social life somewhere in there. My idea seemed really quick and easy to organize because I just took screen shots.

If you could rate your stop motion on a 1-10 scale. 1 being low effort and no very good and 10 being out of this world/mindblowing, how would you rate your project? Explain why.

I would rate my stop motion video a 7. Though I didn't put a whole lot of thought into it, it was clean and well organized.

In hindsight, what would you do differently the second time around? Better lighting? Time management? Explain yourself.

I think that I would have put more creative effort into this project. If I would have had more free time to take pictures, I definitely would have made a stop motion that was more creative.

Explain what makes your stop motion animation unique. How do you believe you thought "outside of the box" on this project?

My stop motion was unique because not many people would think about using a game app ad screen shotting their every move. Most students recreated a game like snake or tetras, and most of those stop motions looked very similar.

What grade do you feel you deserve on this project? Explain your reasoning.

I think that I deserve a low A because my stop motion looked neat and organized, but was lacking some creativity.

Blog Post of the Day:
3 day weekend... how was it? Give me a good story or something funny that happened this weekend. Go.

I worked Friday evening. On Saturday I went to get my hair and makeup done for prom. Adam, my date, came to my house at 5. He lives in Lawrence so he was planning on crashing at my house after prom. On Sunday I spent the whole day with him and we went to Shawnee Mission Park. On Monday I slept in until about 3 and then went to work at 4.

Blog Post of the Day:
Tell me ALL about what your idea is for your stop-motion animation. I need detail. Who is going to help you take photos? What props do you need? Where do you plan on shooting? EXPLAIN everything.

I plan on using the game app 1010! for my stop motion video. It's a game very similar to tetris. I will screen shot every move that i make in the game.

Blog Post of the Day:

I had a migraine on Friday so I did't do very much. My boyfriend came over and watched TV with me. Saturday morning I worked and then I went over to Lawrence to spend the day with Adam. We went out to dinner and walked around downtown Lawrence. Then we made a bonfire at his house. On Easter, my dad's side of the family came over for dinner.

Blog Post of the Day:
"What do you love most about this time of year? Explain why you love it."

The thing I love most about this time of year is the weather. I love going on hikes, to the dog park, or anything where I can enjoy the outdoors. Yesterday, my boyfriend Adam and I went on a hike around the outside of Clinton Lake. It was nice and cool with a good breeze. You can enjoy the outdoors without it being too cold or too hot, plus their aren't nearly as many bugs out like there are during the summer.
