Blog Post of the Day:
"Yesterday I had you choose a global issue and you wrote about it on your blog. Today on your blog I want you to tell me about two different perspectives of your global issue. Are there people for an against your issue? Do people disagree on your issue? Is it a topic that can cause controversy? Look at the issue for two different perspectives. Tell me about those perspectives."

I'm pretty sure that most people in the world are against using children as soldiers. The only people that would be for using children as soldiers would be the people that are actually using them as soldiers. Boys as young as 8 are being used as soldiers, when they should be going to school, playing sports and just being a kid. It takes their right to have a childhood from them.

Child Soldiers

"Once you have selected an issue, create a new blog post and answer the following questions:
  1. Without doing any research, what background do you currently have on this issue?
  2. What do you want to know about this issue?
  3. Why did you choose this issue? Had it effected your life? Is it something you are passionate about? Explain.
Include a couple images that represent your topic. Make sure to cite them. :)"

I took both the Area Studies: Africa and Middle East class and we somewhat studied this topic in both of those classes. I chose this issue because when I was taking those classes I really wanted to learn more about this specific topic. I want to see how much this issue has grown or depleted, why, and how we can stop it.

Blog Post of the Day:
"Last week I asked your to "think differently" and push yourself to be uncommon with your PSA project using Google Slides. Why do you think I asked you to do that? What is the point? Why not just use bullets and headers? Explain."

I think that you asked us to think differently about how we go about our PSA project to show us that we can present information in a more creative way to make the presentation more interesting and to grab the viewers attention.

Blog Post of the Day:

Kids these days are so superficial and don't realize the simple and great things in life. They take everything for granted. They don't appreciate the things they have and the people who care about them. They only care about themselves and the material things that they have.

Blog Post of the Day:

I was sick over the weekend so I spent a majority of the time in bed resting. I finally started feeling a little better by Sunday so I went to my boyfriend's basketball game and then hung out with him and his family Sunday evening. Yesterday I still was feeling under the weather so I rested a lot and then went shopping to find work clothes for my new job.

Blog Post of the Day:
Tell me a little bit about yourself and your life here at BVHS. What activities or clubs are you involved in? What year are you in school? What is your favorite class and/or teacher so far this year? What are you looking forward to this school year? Include some original photos from your phone if you can.

I'm a junior and this is my first year here at BVHS. I transferred from BVN before the beginning of first semester. I'm not involved in any activities or clubs because I'm focused on making good grades and busy working a lot. My favorite teachers are Ms. Coefelt and Mr. Barikmo because they make the topic of learning fun and relatable to our everyday life.

Blog Post of the Day:
What are your thoughts on this class so far? Easy? Hard? Informative? Frustrating? What have you learned so far? What do you want to learn? Explain yourself.
Honestly, I don't know what to think about this class because I have no clue what this class is about. So far all we have done is make a blog, set it up, and set up our Google drive account. You haven't actually told us what this class is about so I have no clue what to expect. Are we just going to blog for this whole class or what?

Blog Post of the Day:
Over the weekend I spent a lot of time relaxing. On Friday I asked my boyfriend, Matt, to sweetheart. He said yes of course.

Saturday morning, I dragged him to the mall to go dress shopping for me. After we bought my dress, I dropped him off at home and left to go the Westbottoms with my friend Ally.
At the Westbottoms we took a lot of photography and went out to dinner. I slept in late Sunday morning, then went to Nebraska Furniture Mart with my parents to buy a new laptop. Later in the evening I went to see Taken 3 with Matt.

Blog Post of the Day:
Read this small newspaper clipping and then write a blog post about it. What are your thoughts? How does it make you feel? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.

After reading this newspaper clipping, I feel as if John Tapene expects more from teenagers than we can give. The world shouldn't have to rely on us to do good. Yes, I agree that we should do good deeds and help others but it shouldn't be consume all of our time. The teenage years are when we're supposed to make mistakes, learn from them, and figure out who we are. How are we supposed to know our likes and dislikes and what we're wanting to do as an occupation when we get older if we are just doing chores and helping others? It's the time of our lives that we do make mistakes, but we have our parents to help us out in a time of need. We're not supposed to be responsible, we're supposed to make mistakes, be selfish, and push the limits. It's the time in our life where we are able to do those things. We have the rest of our life to work and be responsible.
